While perusing my many periodicals, I came across the Eye-Fi Wireless Memory card. Check this out: A Wireless Memory Card?Yes, there really is Wi-Fi inside that tiny little card. We think it’s going to change the way you take, save and share photos. All Eye-Fi Cards come with everything needed to make it simple to set up and connect to your home Wi-Fi network. After that, pop the card into your digital camera and start capturing memories. It stores pictures like a regular SD card no matter where you are, and uploads automatically as soon as you return to your wireless network. All you have to do is turn the camera on.
And, now you can choose the Eye-Fi Card that best suits your needs. You want to just get your photos hassle-free to your computer? How about easily sharing your memories on the Web? Or, maybe you’d like to be able to upload and tag your photos on the go? No problem! Sounds pretty slick, eh? I can't wait to try it out. Especially for shots when I'm within the distance to a local wi-fi hotspot. The way I see this, it could be especially beneficial if I'm using this card on a photo shoot and have my MacBook Pro handy. If I set up an Ad-Hoc network, I could (theoretically) take pictures and they will magically appear on my laptop! I like the thought of that because then I could use the laptop for a near-realtime viewing and deletion of shots. I recently found the 4GB Anniversary Edition of this card on Costco's website for $99 (less $20 instant coupon at checkout). That's pretty good since you can't buy the card from Eye-Fi for that cheap (they're selilng it for $129). If you don't have a Costco card, you'll expect to pay between $100 and $129 for that card, even on eBay. You can check out products page for the Eye-Fi - it lists our parteners as well as eBay for your convienience.
